Job summary:


We are looking for an SEO Communications and Engagement Officer to help shape and deliver capability strategy and strengthen strategic relationships across DLUHC and with other departments, along with our external partnerships, to help deliver the missions of the DLUHC Data Strategy.


You will be working at the heart of both DLUHC and the Government to deliver this high-profile agenda, working with other government departments as well as other key stakeholders.


Job description:

We are looking for an individual who is motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic with great people and communication skills


Specifically, you will:

  • Lead on the development of a communications strategy and delivery of a range of comms and engagement materials.
  • Help develop and deliver a stakeholder engagement plan.
  • Help develop and deliver a continuous and proactive programme of strategic engagement for all stakeholders to support the Data Transformation Team's key objectives, ensuring these are aligned with key departmental and government priorities.
  • Work on the development, planning, coordination and delivery of communication and engagement activities with our wide range of partners.
  • Work collaboratively across SDU, DLUHC and other departments and external stakeholders to implement integrated, insightbased, impactful communication and engagement activities.
  • Using multiple communications channels and work with the team to develop different materials such as newsletters, intranet content, talks, data packs, showcases, presentations and blogs.

Person specification:


  • Demonstrable experience of having previously worked in a strategic communication and/or engagement role.
  • Ability to establish strong internal and external relationships, and to communicating with different audiences, including senior decision makers.
  • Ability to work flexibility, with an understanding of the use of different channels and formats for different audiences.
  • Building networks and relationships of influence at all levels, including senior leaders, to deliver objectives successfully. Track record of building effective stakeholder or collaborative relationships with a range of partners and delivering results through those partnerships.
  • Excellent decision making and judgement skills, and ability to synthesise complex issues effectively and at pace to senior decision makers.
  • Be able to work flexibly at pace, managing several competing deadlines and rapidly changing priorities at short notice and to very short timescales.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work with independence.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel to other offices as required.
