As a Barclays Associate Banker in Corporate Banking, you'll assist and contribute to the growth of one or more client portfolios across UK Corporate Banking.

You'll work closely with Bankers and other Associate Bankers to proactively develop and maintain new and existing client relationships.

You will play a crucial role in enabling our journey to become the banker of choice for our clients' Corporate and Investment Banking needs, whilst developing the skills and product knowledge to build a career as a Corporate Banker.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in.

What will you be doing?:


  • Supporting Bankers to proactively develop and maintain new and existing client relationships, assisting in the delivery of great outcomes for our clients
  • Improving and maintaining high Client Satisfaction scores by providing exceptional service
  • Developing a working knowledge of key Corporate Banking products applicable to the industry sector you manage
  • Undertaking detailed client meeting preparation and attending meetings with or without a Banker
  • Managing and leading the deal process, liaising closely with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring servicing activity is directed towards the appropriate contact point & educating clients to use correct servicing channels
  • Demonstrating cautiousness, sound judgment and appropriate and timely escalations in the management of all types of risk applicable to the role

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Awareness of business/personal customer solutions
  • Knowledge of credit risk processes and policy
  • Be qualified or working towards Professional Study Qualifications e.g., IFS
  • Significant Knowledge of control environment and AML risk

Where will you be working?
Barclays Snowhill is at the heart of the professional district and commands a workforce of around 1000. With great transport links to Birmingham Grand Central and Snowhill train stations as well as the local metro. Our office has a dedicated staff coffee shop and deli and break out areas for staff. There is also a presentation theatre for client and staff events. Our office boasts a great working environment as well as opportunities to network across the city.
