Your New Role
We have a brand-new opportunity for a
permanent Site Agent to join our
NMC SW account in
Glasgow.
Our
NMC SW account is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response.
The team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day.
By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.
The Site Agent plays an integral part in assisting the Construction Manager on projects and schemes, to achieve delivery, whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing engineering expertise and support to the project team
- Understanding and interpreting drawings and specifications
- Managing, supervising and mentoring both your onsite and projects team to ensure high levels of quality, control and generation of appropriate records
- Ensuring all staff, subcontractors and visitors are properly inducted, meet the competencies required of them and hold relevant qualifications and tickets
- Production of 'as built' information ensuring that it is accurate and relevant
- Adopting and promoting a costconscious attitude through efficient use of company
- Communicating with commercial staff to ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and contribute to commercial aspects of the project
- Liaising with general foreman to ensure adequate work preparation and resources availability
- Assisting the Construction Manager as required to procure necessary materials, subcontracts and plant in sufficient time
- Chairing weekly site meetings, leading and promoting digitalisation, inclusion, welfare and well being
- Managing quality systems including Amey internal systems and Temporary works design
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Degree
- HND/HNC in Engineering or equivalent
- CSCS Level
- Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Demonstrable experience at Site/ Section engineer, working towards Site/ Subagent level within a civil engineering construction environment supports your effective communication and leadership skills
- Previous experience of Temporary Works Coordination
- Qualified First aider
