Main duties & responsibilities:

Leadership

  • To attend and contribute to the Governors' Academic and Pastoral Sub-Committee, Josephite Ethos Committee, SLT, SMT, Heads of Year and Heads of Department meetings, Wellbeing Committee, Hallowed Team.
  • To represent SLT at all Assemblies.
  • To share in the attendance of school events, maintaining a high degree of visibility.
  • To manage the budget bidding process, for capital and main budgets, in liaison with the Head of Finance and Bursar. To monitor the management of budgets.
  • To manage and authorise the St George's Weybridge Allowance, in conjunction with the Assistant Head Co-Curricular & College Entry.
  • To be on call, and present, when necessary, during the school holiday periods.
  • To conduct formal investigations, as required.

Day to day Operations

  • To oversee the day to day life of the College.
  • To liaise with the Business Management Team, as required, to deliver this.
  • Working with other senior staff, manage and coordinate the College calendar and term dates to support the smooth operation of the school, including effective coordination between the College and Junior School.
  • To oversee all rotas and supervision, including the cover rota, duty rota, lunch queue etc.
  • To ensure all Registers are correctly logged, in liaison with Student Services.
  • To manage staff absence, in collaboration with the Director of HR.
  • To produce and edit the Staff Handbook.
  • To be responsible for development and review of nominated school policies and procedures.
  • To be the conduit between SLT and the Common Room Committee.
  • To represent the SLT on the Digital Strategy Committee.
  • To organise termly Professional Development Days for Teaching Staff.
  • To oversee and coordinate parental communication and engagement liaising with Marketing Department as required.

Event Planning & Management

  • To plan and execute, all whole school events, including the main ones listed below.
  • With the Assistant Head Co-Curricular & College Entry and Marketing Dept, oversee Open Mornings.
  • To oversee, schedule and plan whole school Chapel events with the Chaplaincy Team, e.g. beginning and End of Term services; Remembrance Day Services, Founder's Day Masses, SS Peter and Paul Masses.
  • To plan and execute Graduation Night, including the management of the recipients of prizes, their prizes and the Order of Service for the occasion.
  • To plan and execute the Year Group Celebrations of Achievement, with the Heads of Year.

Inspections

  • To take overall responsibility for the preparation for, and execution of, the ISI and CSI Inspections.

Staff

  • To work with HR and SLT on recruiting staff, including serving on the SLT selection panel for appointments to teaching posts.
  • To promote staff engagement with professional development activities and training.
  • To liaise with the Director of HR on staffing issues and employee relations.
  • To be responsible for staff on ITT routes, PGCE trainees and ECTs within the College.
  • To plan and coordinate IStip Regional Days.
  • To plan and monitor the staff induction programme and staff appraisal.
  • To liaise with the Director of HR and Deputy Head Pastoral regarding EDI matters.
  • To be a source of advice and support for teaching staff as required, and a champion of wellbeing.

Teaching

  • To teach a limited timetable (approx. 4 periods per week).
