Description
Do you have a passion for students' unions, student activism, and student voice? Have you got hands-on experience delivering and managing student engagement activities, ideally in a campaigning context? Do you care deeply about social change and ensuring that students and student officers have direct involvement in NUS' national campaigns? Then you might be a great fit for this opportunity

We're looking for an experienced students' unionist to join our England team.

You'll have expertise in organising and engagement, exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate at a national scale with hundreds of student officers and thousands of students.

Who are we?

At NUS UK, we believe in the power of students and education to change the world; and we're working with our member students' unions to make that happen.

The student movement in the UK is made up of 430 students' unions in unis and colleges, and nearly 4 million students.

NUS sits at the heart of this movement, delivering a national student voice demanding academic, economic and social justice. The student movement is fast-paced and sometimes challenging, but we're also a big family who support each other.

We see anti-oppression as central to our mission. Education isn't working unless it's working for _everyone_ in our society. We're trans inclusive without exception.

And we welcome individuals who are up for taking active responsibility for their own ongoing learning on liberation, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Why apply?
As well as a great place to work, we offer a range of benefits including:

  • Generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days per year rising with service to 30 days, pro rata for part time)
  • Enhanced sick, maternity, paternity, shared parental and adoption pay
  • Paid volunteer days
  • Health Cash Plan
  • Pension scheme with employer matched contributions up to 6%
  • Employee Assistance Scheme
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Childcare Allowance
  • Paid volunteering days three days per year for full time staff

This is a full time, fixed term role with options for London-based office working, hybrid working or homebased in England.

We aim to practice what we preach so we're happy to offer a flexible, person-centered working environment.
