Description

As the Technologist, you will provide technical and process support to both internal and external customers including raw materials suppliers, working with DPL operation, sales, marketing and customers.


This is a permanent position on Day Shifts and the salary being offered is £3k - £40k per annum, depending on experience.


Main Duties & Responsibilities include:


  • Support shift Managers and operators to solve problems, concerning materials and production processes.
  • Train and enhance knowledge of materials and processes for all Production and Mixing employees.
  • Search for alternative raw materials, for new materials enhancing properties, and cost reduction, meetings with Suppliers.
  • Partner with QA for investigations in the field for customer complaints
  • Proactive communication with all sales, production, departments and senior management to provide information to support enquiries for sales such as quality specifications, colour matching and technical issues.
  • Responsible for Product development in DPL working with Headquarters Technology/ R&D.
  • Set up Raw Material and product Specifications.
  • Work closely with management team to lead and implement all formulation changes keeping all files updated.
  • Support Technical issues with Customers and Suppliers.
  • Organise line trials for relevant teams for requirements needed and complete trial reports.
  • Control and retention of all documentation/samples from trials and product development uploading onto company portal.
  • SAP system to create new products and matching of products and materials.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and performing statistical analysis of products and production lines.
  • Maintain direct contact with the R&D and Technology department in Israel.
  • Attend all regular meetings locally and globally.
  • Other duties as deemed reasonable and necessary both now and, in the future, to meet business needs.

Key Skill Requirements:


  • B.Sc. in Engineering or the Sciences.
  • 3 year's experience in similar Role
  • Strong communication organisational, motivational, presentation and people skills.
  • High level of QMS knowledge and quality engineering skills
  • Excellent administration and record keeping skills.
  • IT skills to a competent level, able to produce reports, enter and analyse data.
  • A good understanding of the extrusion process capability.
  • Work equally well as part of a team or as an individual.
  • Good problem solver and strong decision maker.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the business needs.
  • Selfmotivated driven with a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrates Core Values.
  • SAP Knowledge Desirable
  • To have an established manufacturing background.
