The roles and purpose


The company is looking for Consultants and Senior Consultants with the right levels of experience to join the core team, with strong assurance, risk and HSE management experience.

All colleagues are expected to actively contribute to growing the business by participation in business development activities.


Reporting (and interfaces)
All roles will interface with other colleagues in the team plus client representatives as required.

The individual will report to a Principal Consultant or Director and will;

  • Work closely with the Scapa leadership and consultancy team to design and deliver projects.
  • Work closely with client sponsors to build client relationships, design and deliver assignments.

Key responsibilities

  • Understanding Risk_
Gain a deep understanding of current risk and capability through a range of independent audit and assurance services.

  • Major Accident Hazard and Process Safety Audits
  • Safety Case 'Regulation 5' Audits
  • 3rd Party and Contractor Audit and Assurance
  • Independent Readiness Review for Projects and Turnarounds
  • Integrity Assurance
  • Decommissioning Assurance
  • Audit and Assurance Programme Design
  • Due Diligence and Transition Assurance
  • Strengthening Capability_
Building capability through leadership coaching, strengthening management processes and actual practices.

  • Process Safety Leadership Assessment and Coaching
  • Operating Model Assessment and Design
  • Regulatory Compliance Expert Advice
  • Subject Matter Expert Advice
- 'Appendix C' Operator Application Support

  • Strategic Improvement Plan Development
  • Learning from Events_
Leading investigations and provide investigation coaching to maximise organisational learning

  • Lead Complex HSE and Business Loss Investigations
  • Investigation Training and Coaching Services
- 'Lessons Learned' Workshop Facilitation


Previous Experience

Essential

  • Experience in Operations Management, Engineering Management, HSE or Process Safety Management in the energy sector, renewables, or other high hazard operations, engineering or project environment.
  • Experience of leading or participating in independent audit, assurance activities.

Desirable

  • Experience of working for an oil and gas operator, COMAH terminal operator; major service company; large scale power generation company or with the UK Regulators for health, safety and the environment.
  • Experience of working in a consultancy environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid offshore certification.
  • Degree qualified/Chartered Engineer (desirable) or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant HSE qualifications are desirable.
  • Relevant audit and assurance qualifications are desirable.
