Job Purpose The key focus of the Business Support Officer will be to assist in the development of the HR Information System (HRIS) and provide statistical reports and trend analysis. The postholder will also contribute to the professional delivery of Human Resources (HR) services in line with the Association's business plan.


1.0 HR Information System (HRIS)
1.1 Facilitate first level support for HRIS including logging and monitoring response to helpdesk queries, and escalating as required.
1.2 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with HRIS provider, including attendance at user groups as requested.
1.3 Assist with resolving problems arising from data input / interpretation for HRIS.
1.4 Report on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis business metrics eg absence; recruitment; turnover; equality; training, identifying trends and patterns.
1.5 Administer salary changes as and when required.
1.6 Develop and test systems for the management of HR processes.
1.7 Maintain accurate records.


2.0 Best Practice
2.1 Meet relevant statutory obligations and assist with the preparation of FEC Annual

Monitoring returns and three yearly Article 55 return.
2.2 Carry out routine audit of internal HR processes e.g.

changes to terms and conditions of service, new start information, salary details, leave calculations etc., highligting any areas for concern.

2.3 Assist in the preparation of files for external audit purposes e.g. ISO audits and assist with the follow through of any action points to drive improvement.

2.4 Assist the Corporate Services Directorate to ensure the overall efficiency of the
Directorate by positively promoting all aspects of the service, including, quality initiatives; continuous improvement initiatives and training as required.

2.5 Assist with the research, review and development of policies and procedures / protocols.


2.6 Contribute to the future development of the HRIS and ensure the system operates to its full potential for the benefit of Radius management and employees.

2.7 Handle confidential and commercial information with discretion and in accordance with data protection legislation.


2.8 Provide support to HR Business Partners, Seniors and Managers in delivery of a professional HR services across the business.


2.9 Provide an advisory service to managers across the Association, as required, in respect of general employee and self service queries.


3.0 Resourcing
3.1 Ensure the recruitment of employees is in accordance with current legislation and the

Association's Recruitment and Selection Policy including auditing of the process.
3.2 Participate in shortlisting and interview panels as and when required.
3.3 Ensure the accurate and timely production of employment terms and conditions for all new employees.
3.4 Assist with relevant annual business and workforce planning processes.


4.0 Learning and Development
4.1 Assist with the administration of Radius's Corporate Learning & Development

Programme as requested, and produce mandatory training compliance reports.
4.2 Provide support and assist with the Association's annual performance review process and produce compliance reports.

4.3 Where applicable provide data to assist with the sourcing of relevant learning and development programmes for staff across the Association.


5.0 Performance Management
5.1 Produce monthly reports across a range of agreed areas highlighting trends, patterns and non-compliance.

5.2 Provide a comprehensive administrative support to the HR team, including answering phones and dealing with queries, filing, providing cover at Reception as required.


6.0 Attendance Management
6.1 Assist in administration and monitoring of attendance management within the


Association, including:

  • Identification of threshold levels in accordance with the sickness absence protocols;
  • Facilitate welfare meetings as required;
  • Occupational Health appointments & supporting documentation.


6.2 Produce and analyse monthly sickness absence reports in line with policy triggers & notify managers accordingly of action to be taken.


7.0 General
7.1 Deputise for colleagues within HR, as and when required.

7.2 Undertake activities, where appropriate, representing the Association in a respectful and mutually supportive manner to external groups or the general public.

7.3 Conduct all activities in a manner which is safe to yourself and others acting at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.

7.4 Employees represent the Association and should attend work neat, tidy and clean in appearance which includes their work area/clear desk in line with the Code of
Conduct and Health and Safety policy.
