About Us:

Creating beautiful gardens and green spaces in collaboration with residents.

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient.

Following the Grenfell tragedy we have brought our social housing stock back under local authority control and actively engage with local residents and leaseholders in making improvements to our estates, including the grounds.

As well as enhancing the local living environment, we aim to make space for a variety of uses and public enjoyment, and to support and sustain wildlife and biodiversity.

The Role:

You'll help us make the most of our investment in green spaces.

Working on the design and specification of works to be done in the grounds of estates, you'll ensure residents, and the local community are engaged and involved.

You'll have considerable freedom and creative scope in shaping planting schemes, ensuring we create great places to live.

Working with residents to organise planting days, gardening clubs and other activities will be part of your brief.

Overseeing the delivery of the grounds contract, you will also deal with enquiries and complaints about ongoing grounds maintenance.

About You:

Your background could be with a local authority, university or hospital, or possibly a grounds maintenance contractor.

You'll combine training in horticulture or arboriculture with strong organisational and contract management skills.

We'll look to you to deal with everything from tree inspections to community events, contract negotiations to budgetary management.

Confident and assertive, you'll have excellent customer service and communication skills.

Experience in managing safe systems of work and accident investigations would be helpful.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
