Job Overview:

The Senior Buyer - IT reporting into the Category Lead, Indirect Procurement.


Responsibility to support in category strategy development, execution, and sourcing activity, ensuring supply chain solutions are fit for purpose, aligned to business needs, and represent lowest total cost, optimal service, and highest quality with relevant impactful supply base innovation.


You will be an accountable and dedicated person, with a proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving and fast paced environment.

Helping with the implement and maintain supplier management programs across all key areas of spend. You will be seen as a trusted commercial partner working closely with key stakeholders.


Main Duties

Sourcing, Negotiations & Contracting

Including the following tasks


Support
the IT Category Lead
in all IT Procurement
contracting activities
from simple renewal renegotiation
through to full Tender
activities.


Supporting or running complex high value sourcing activities and negotiations, identifying new and more competitive sources of supply

Negotiating and influencing suppliers to achieve best market value

Maintain and update the Contract repository, ensuring all renewal timelines are activated in advance of the expiry dates.

You will have the ability to identify cost reduction opportunities within the business.

You will liaise with suppliers to resolve issues with performance and regularly review, suggest, and develop improvements

Working with the Category Lead you will develop the category strategies aligned to the business need.


Stakeholder Management


You will manage and support a wide range of internal stakeholders discussing new contracting requirements and enquiries on the current agreements.

Supporting the development and delivery of annual targets and goals across cost, quality, reliability, and delivery

Working cross-functionally with other departments and internal stakeholders

Managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, from aligning with internal colleagues to gather, assess and challenge business requirements to appropriately challenging external stakeholders whilst maintaining relationships


Supplier Management


You will drive forward with the appropriate Implementation and maintenance of a new Supplier Management Program covering all strategic and preferred suppliers, reviewing current processes and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.

This allows is to measure supplier performance during and prior to any future new contracts.

What we are looking for:


  • Ideally 3 to 5 years procurement experience, showing evidence of considerable selfdevelopment.
  • Ideally in the IT Category
  • Hardware / Software and or Services
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills (written and oral), customer facing skills, excellent organizational skills, time management skills.
  • Accountable and dedicated, with a proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problemsolving and fast paced environment.
  • Clear track record of stakeholder management with a clear focus on strategy implementation and risk mitigation.
  • Capable of conflict management and resolution.
  • CIPS qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
