The North West Healthcare Public Health Directorate are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and effective Consultant in Dental Public Health, to work as part of our dedicated and committed dental public health team.

The successful individual will bring professional credibility and robust leadership to engage, support, develop and deliver the dental public health offer to the NHS, Local Government and additional health and social care stakeholders.

The successful post holder will be the main contact for at least one of the 3 integrated care systems.

Opportunities to contribute to National work programmes, develop academic links, and support additional cross Directorate working are fully supported by the dental lead Consultant and the Directorate of Healthcare Public Health.


The role will include supporting innovation and quality improvement in services, developing and supporting the implementation of oral health strategies to address inequalities in oral health, oral health needs assessments and supporting the development of clinical networks and subsequent pathway development and evaluation.

The Consultant will support the development of the dental public health workforce.

They will be responsible for their own personal development and demonstrate strategic leadership and development of dental and other health professionals with respect to dental public health.
