_Main purpose of job_
Provide a professional driving service that supports our clients and service users. Operate the passenger lift and assist the Passenger Assistant with the service users as and when required. Have an understanding of disability issues and deliver the service with a patient and level-headed attitude.

Main Responsibilities_
- Operate the vehicle in a safe manner, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits. Any fines or tickets received must be reported to the office as soon as possible.
- Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken every time the vehicle is used to a standard acceptable on the road. Any defects to be reported to the office
- Ensure that all passengers and wheelchair users are secured correctly in the appropriate location using the necessary safety equipment.
- Ensure that the vehicle in use has adequate fuel for the journey, refueling as and when required or instructed
- Ensure that the vehicle is cleaned inside and out on a regular basis, as a minimum on a weekly basis
- Remove and replace seating as required
- Ensure that the vehicle is parked in the depot correctly, in pre allocated bays where possible.
- Operate the passenger lift and other equipment used to assist passengers whilst entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
- Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative manner
- Assist the Passenger Assistant with their duties as required
General_
- To hold a valid category D PCV driving licence
- Hold a CPC qualification card and keep mandatory training up to date
- Ensure that training in all the role specific courses are kept in date and refreshed as and when needed.
- Maintain good working relationships with all members of staff and our clients
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that you remain familiar with any changes made.
- Ensure that any company uniform provided is worn at all times, including high visibility jackets/ vests and ID badges. You must ensure that this is kept in a clean, presentable condition.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
- Ensure that duties start punctually by reporting for duty at the specified times and ensure all services run to agreed times.
- Minimum of two years' experience of driving a bus or coach to a high standard
- Hold a full unrestricted D driving licence (auto restrictions acceptable) with no more than 3 penalty points
- Hold a current CPC Drivers card
- Willing to undertake and satisfy a Disclosure and Barring Service check
- Hold a current and valid D4 medical examination report
