A vacancy has arisen for the position of Sterile Services Trainer / Team Leader working at the HSDU Department, Royal Stoke Hospital - cover may also be provided at the County site as required.
The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services includes, the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments including flexible endoscopes used in surgical and medical procedures.
These items are checked into the department after use, they are cleaned, disinfected, packaged, sterilised and delivered back to operating theatres, wards, departments, clinics and GP surgeries.
This will involve manual handling of heavy sets, pushing and pulling of trolleys and the operation of equipment used in the processing cycle.
This trainer role requires the post holder to be a fully qualified or experienced Technician across the range of duties.
You will be required to plan the training schedule with the Production Coordinator, helping to ensure there are trained staff in all areas across the shifts.
To provide support as a Team Leader in a reduced capacity as needed, this involves giving direction to staff to ensure production needs are met, troubleshooting issues, dealing with staff issues.
