Reporting to the Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager the Production Planner will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure efficient and timely production processes.


Essential Position Functions

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on production capacity, materials availability, and customer demand.
  • Coordinate with production teams, supply chain, and other departments to prioritise production tasks and ensure ontime delivery of products.
  • Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks or delays, and take corrective actions to maintain the production schedule.
  • Analyse production data and performance metrics to optimise production efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall productivity.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock levels of raw materials, components, and finished products are held.
  • Working with the Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager, place & schedule raw material deliveries
  • Administrative tasks to maintain up to date data for MRP and support the Supply Chain function in daytoday activities
  • Work closely with production supervisors to understand resources, adjust schedules, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate production schedules, changes, and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement production planning strategies, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing operations is essential. Experience in food manufacturing would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to optimise production schedules and address production challenges effectively.
  • Knowledge of production planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and communicate production schedules effectively.
  • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment, prioritise tasks, and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles, inventory management, and production control concepts.
  • Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask to manage multiple production schedules simultaneously.
