Manheim Vehicle Services provides the physical operations required by manufacturers, fleets and dealers for the operation of scalable and intelligent retail, in-life and defleet programmes.

Our six dedicated sites boast capacity for over 250,000 vehicles annually while state-of-the-art facilities mean vehicles are processed efficiently, sustainably, and swiftly.

MVS currently has 3 scale sites, Bruntingthorpe, Wyton and Coventry. The Bruntingthorpe is our largest at over 600 acres.


Scope of Role:

The Security Team Leader is responsible for the Security function at our Bruntingthorpe MVS Site.


You will lead a large team of security officers with direct line manager responsibilities for Bruntingthorpe site, making sure that all team members are adhering to the standard operating practices and HSE requirements.


The role will be responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships in addition to developing effective security plans to ensure regulatory compliance in line with our contractual obligations to our customers.


Objectives for Role:


  • Be present daily on site to support all aspects of security.
  • Work closely with the operations team to maintain compliance with regards to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental commitments, and the upkeep of all company policies and procedures.
Be responsible for all security officers and have a full understanding of the functions covered including - manned guarding, CCTV monitoring via the
- management of the on-site gate house, key holding, and general security business support for Bruntingthorpe site.

  • Through direct management of site security ensure the safety & wellbeing of both temporary and permanent security officers is maintained
  • Conduct monthly performance reviews and appraisals with all direct reports in line with HR guidelines and advice.
  • Work with the HR team on all aspects of people management such as absence monitoring and disciplinaries.
  • Manage capacity planning for each site in terms of shift patterns, holiday cover, roster management recruitment, training, health, and safety and disciplinaries via your team.
  • Ensure site security risk assessments are up to date and raising any outstanding concerns to your line manager.
  • Establish a positive, healthy, and safe environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.
  • Record, maintain and report out weekly the key departmental performance indicators.
  • Managing and controlling sensitive Information with a good knowledge of GDPR.
  • Ensure on site patrols, searches, speed checks and parameter inspections are all carried out correctly and to schedule with reports completed.
  • Ensure all security breaches are thoroughly investigated and reported directly to the Head of Security or General Manager.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are maintained accurately and up to date.
  • Liaising with Police and other external stakeholders for security matters when required.
  • Promoting and driving a good security culture throughout the organisation and ensuring required security protocols are adhered to by all.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:


  • Extensive experience of security management in the security industry or other sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills including influencing and advocacy, and confidence in dealing with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety practices and procedures
  • Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and to work on several projects at the same time.
  • Reliable and accountable, with an agile approach to work, that ensures deliverables are met within defined timescales.
  • Full Driving Licence
