Purpose

  • Technical Compliance Coordinator to be responsible for ensuring that the meets all its specification, regulatory and customer requirements. This role ensures the business has accurate legal and compliant product data and specifications and on the labels.
  • Manage business quality management inbox (QMI), maintain nutrition database and provide technical service support to internal and external stakeholders which include internal sales and customer teams.
  • Reporting to the Technical Manager, your role will involve coordination of technical specifications & technical activities that influence smooth running of the department.
  • Update and manage ESG and environmental compliance data within the SAP system.
  • As part of the technical team, you will be responsible for the endtoend process of instigating and managing through the technical product specifications for bulk trade customers, in B2B health food manufacturing and leading distributors, health stores, online retailers, Direct to Consumer (Amazon), as well as covering such daytoday tasks.

Specific Job Roles

Product Data Management & Specifications

  • Maintain adequate specification records to demonstrate compliance.
  • Implement an improvement project to redesign and maintenance of Go Superfoods specification systems.
  • Ensure specification information is accurate and meets relevant UK and EU regulation requirements.
  • Issue of specifications, MSDS and other technical information to relevant parties.
  • Completion and timely issue of product specs to satisfy the requirements of customers.
  • Maintenance of specific requirements and approval processes for organic and kosher certification as well as Vegan trademark.
  • Maintain up to date product lists and database.
  • Update product information in label builder software.

Quality Management Inbox & KPI

  • First point of contact for technical enquiries coming through a Quality Inbox.
  • Log the requests from internal and external customer.
  • Allocate the tasks among the team as per the agreed individual targets on a weekly basis.
  • Negotiate the deadlines with the customers & plan the workload.
  • Complete the questionnaires as per the agreed deadlines.
  • Responding to customer technical enquiries concerning nutrition, food labelling and current consumer concerns.
  • Setting, implementing, and monitoring quality KPIs on site with the incentive to improve product quality across all ranges. To include reporting results monthly to all personnel onsite.

Maintain nutrition and health claims

  • Calculation of nutrition and ingredient data for declarations, nutrition c& health claim verification
  • Keeping the overall number of questionnaires down to an agreed number decided by the management.
  • Answer and provide solutions to customer regulatory inquiries.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory issues and to support the regulatory compliance of the business.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and active regulatory surveillance and in liaison with key external sources of information.

Customer compliance

  • Completing customer own format documents for independent customers (For example SAQ, product specification, GMO document, allergen document, etc Maintaining the customer questionnaires database
  • Provide support to the commercial and marketing team to verify regulatory compliance of information for Amazon, Go Superfoods websites and product technical data sheets.
  • Investigating customer complaints including trending and review.

Regulatory & ESG compliance data

  • Conduct regulatory review of product compliance when in depth analysis / review is needed for the quality department.
  • Ensure all relevant testing, that is, shelf life, organoleptic, nutritional & microbiological on current products are carried out.
  • Sign off artwork against customer requirements and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Completing customer own format documents for independent customers (For example SAQ, product specification, GMO document, allergen document, etc
  • Liaise with key factory personnel help to deliver against customer requirements & expectations.
  • Sign off artwork against customer requirements and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical claims.

Qualifications and Training:


  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science/Food Law or in a related field.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, Product Security Food Fraud Awareness
  • Internal auditing experience
  • Practical experience of using specification or artwork packages
  • Good IT proficiency. Knowledge of databases, Excel, SAP
  • Good literacy and numerical skills are vital.

Preferred:

  • Digital and data skills for food industry (e.g., data visualisation Power BI, Excel, Google Data Studio, Coding added advantage
  • Experience with the BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard.
