NIGHT PORTER


To ensure the highest possible standards of customer care are provided through professional, effective, friendly service to customers enhancing customer satisfaction.


RESPONSIBLE TO
Operations Manager, Duty Manager, Assistant Duty Manager.


MAIN TASKS

  • To promote a helpful and professional image to the customer and give full cooperation to any customer requiring assistance, with a prompt and helpful manner.
  • To follow standard operating procedures and fully understand a handover sheet.
  • To answer the telephone and direct calls to the relevant department.
  • To provide a drinks service for residents, empty bottle bin, bottle up and change barrels when necessary.
  • To be able to clean and empty the glass washers in all areas.
  • To be able to make and serve items available on the room service menu.
  • To clean and vacuum all public areas, including conference rooms, in the hall and hotel.
  • To clean all public toilet areas.
  • To set conference rooms up to the highest standard, ensuring equipment is correctly working.
  • To be able to set up for private functions.
  • To be able to set up and provide continental breakfast service.
  • Ensure the building is secure at all times.
  • To assist Duty Manager in preparation of conferences.
  • To be able to check conference equipment and clean where necessary.
  • To provide guests with newspapers and early morning calls.
  • To have pride in your area and a high level of commitment.
  • To establish and anticipate guests need and wherever possible to enhance quality service and in turn enhance customer satisfaction.
  • To administer first aid.
  • To give full cooperation to colleagues by good communication at all levels, by attending briefings, meetings and passing on messages.
  • To be fully aware of the hotel services, products and attractions in the local area, and to promote hotel services at every opportunity.
  • To pass on any complaints, compliments and suggestions to the management.
  • Attending training sessions if required to do so.
  • Be friendly and deal efficiently with best western staff and other agencies to build a mutually beneficial relationship, creating good feeling and confidence, in our staff and the product we sell.
  • To report any hazards or general maintenance.
  • To employ efficient working methods, do not waste materials, use equipment and materials correctly, maintain equipment and materials in good order, conserve energy whenever possible. Take pride in your work, yourself and your presentation. Keep your work area clean and tidy, do not create hazardous situations. Leave equipment safe and clean after use.

Salary:
£18,422.56-£19,006.00 per year
