Guide/Communicator


We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to support a Deafblind gentleman in Kelso, Scottish Borders, for 6 hours every week.

Currently the hours of work would be Tuesday 1pm-4pm and Friday 9.30am-12.30pm; hours may change on occasion. Hours of work may be negotiable.

Deafblind Scotland are recruiting Guide/Communicators to work across Scotland to support deafblind adults to live independent lives and maintain links within their communities.

Guide/Communicators support deafblind adults in the areas of communication, information and mobility.

At Deafblind Scotland we are committed to lifelong support and as our service users age there may be some elements of personal care required.

We require employees to have a satisfactory level of written English and effective communication skills to support individuals with hearing loss.

Full training in Guiding and Communication Tactics is provided. No experience necessary, but is beneficial.
