Description

How would you describe yourself, a natural quick thinker and problem solver? If the answer is yes we want you to join our team as a surveyor.

What you'll be doing
As a surveyor, you'll be surveying. Of course you will, but more specifically carrying out responsive property inspections in properties across the Hampshire region.

You'll typically be out and about on your own, spending - 4 days a week completing site inspections, meeting contractors, with the remainder of the week being your admin time.

You'll be using our systems to ensure we've got really up to date records and we'll provide you with all the kit you need to do the job.

You'll work with your maintenance colleagues to schedule in repairs coming out of the work you've done, and you'll keep customer experience at the heart of everything you do.

Our customers will be a high focus for you, so you'll ensure that the highest possible quality is provided through our services, meeting the requirements of best value and best practice, demonstrating excellent communication skills at all levels.

About you

You will have a relevant technical (HNC or higher) qualification in Building, Surveying, Planning or a similar technical field and have experience working in social housing.

You'll mostly work alone out in our communities but there's a team right behind you waiting for you when you get back to the laptop; being able to work independently and part of a team is key in this role.

You'll also be happy communicating with colleagues and customers frequently, either on the phone or in writing.

A strength will be your time management and you'll be experienced in working to deadlines, and you'll be really happy to manage your own time and workload.

You'll be knowledgeable in current methods, standards and initiatives relating to repair and refurbishment of residential dwellings and you'll be confident sharing your knowledge with others and keeping up to date with what's new in your area.

You'll need to hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle to enable you to get around the county.

What's in it for me

We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better.

The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:

  • Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more

  • We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised recognition initiatives, and monthly and annual awards.
