The Endoscopy Unit is looking to recruit an Endoscopy Co-ordinator who will be responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative service for the endoscopy department, maintaining a direct and close working relationship with the nursing team as well as the visiting clinicians and other support staff within the department.


This is a challenging position and requires someone who is a team player, can be flexible towards the needs of the service, is organised and able to work well under pressure.

The ability to use varied IT systems is essential. This position requires excellent communication skills with the ability to meet the demands of working in a busy environment.


Sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the use of hospital IT systems would be an advantage as well as an understanding of patient pathways.

It is preferable that applicants have recent previous experience within a comparable role.

We will need you to be flexible and be able to work within the 3 Swansea Endoscopy units at Singleton, Morriston or Neath Port Talbot Hospital to suit service needs.

Working hours will vary and there could be weekend work.

You will be responsible for booking, in a timely manner, patients for endoscopy Procedures. You will liaise closely with patients by telephone and ensure that all patients are dealt with courteously and promptly.


You will liaise closely with a wide group of staff including consultants, medical staff, Directorate managers, nursing staff and secretarial and clerical staff.

Negations skills will be required when dealing with a difficult situation.

Expert knowledge of Endoscopy procedures will be required, to support administration processes when booking patients appointments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
