About our service


The Essex
Child and
Family Wellbeing
Service (ECFWS) brings
together a range of existing
services, having been commissioned by Essex County Council and the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System.


The
service, which is provided by HCRG Care Group in partnership
with Barnardo's, ensures that
families continue to have easy access to local
services,
with staff able to reach
children and
families in the community; whether in one of
our Family Hubs or Delivery Sites, an Early Years Setting or School, or in a
family's home.

This flexible and innovative new way of
working is about providing
services without walls and ensuring those
families who need
support the most are easily reached.

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic and experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator to work within our integrated teams. Support the work of the Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service through the development of volunteering.


Volunteer Co-ordinator Role
Establish, enhance and sustain services through volunteering to meet the project or location needs.

  • Recruit and induct volunteers through:
  • identifying volunteering opportunities
- promoting and advertising volunteering
- co-ordinating recruitment and selection and retention processes
- implementing organisational safeguard arrangements for screening against undesirable people
- devising and implementing role matching and induction processes

  • Manage and develop volunteers by:
  • leading, motivating, supervising and deploying volunteers and staff as appropriate
- solving problems during volunteering activity
- identifying and planning to meet individual and group learning and development needs
- maintaining volunteer records

  • Provide support to volunteering by:
  • encouraging project staff to actively participate in valuing and promoting volunteering
- developing capacity to manage volunteers
- contributing to the maintenance of a healthy safe, and productive working environment
- promoting Barnardo's services
- organising events
- managing the use of equipment and finance
- facilitating meetings
- managing information and knowledge
- reporting and liaising with external agencies

  • Promote volunteering by:
- celebrating the contribution of volunteers
- promoting people's equality, diversity and rights
- developing productive relationships with colleagues working in children's services, retail, fundraising and external agencies

  • Ensure the implementation of strategies and policies that support volunteering and contribute to new policy.
  • Evaluate the contribution of volunteers and volunteering through contributing to reports for internal use and with external funding partners as appropriate.

Essential requirements for the role

  • Knowledge and understanding of good practice when working with volunteers.
  • Experience of successfully recruiting, supervising, monitoring and supporting others in a paid or unpaid situation, or experience of coordinating a group of people to achieve a complex desired outcome.
  • Experience in developing personal action plans to address strategic service priorities.
  • Ability to write reports and produce/present information to colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Can communicate and listen effectively. Demonstrates good standard of writing and IT skills.

A valid driving licence and use of a car is essential for this role.
This
role is based in the West Essex locality,
working across Harlow, Epping Forest and Uttlesford Districts.


As per NHS guidance this role will require successful applicants to evidence immunisations or immunity for MMR and Chicken Pox.

This is due to the clinical focus of some tasks and the requirement to work with vulnerable families, young people and children.


The roles within this service may also require the successful applicant to wear PPE including the wearing of a protective mask, to follow social distancing rules as stated within NHS guidelines and to remain compliant with any future mandatory requirementsintroduced by the Government/NHS.
