Bespoke Designer (Inside IR35)

Location:
Chichester

Duration:
Rolling 12-month contract.

Full time: 37.5 hours p/w

Rate:
Up to £28.02p/h Ltd/Umb DOE


We require a Bespoke Designer for our client in Chichester, you will be working with our global client, one of the world's most successful premium manufacturers of cars, motorcycles, and provider of premium services.

We are currently looking for a Bespoke Design to create and steer desirable and profitable design features for new and existing model developments in -line with the Bespoke Projects and brand requirements.

As the Bespoke Designer your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Design work can be modifications to existing features or from a blank sheet of paper and can derive from customer requests or be pro-actively offered as individual features or part of a Collection Car.
  • Selfmanagement skills are needed to work towards practical solutions with demanding deadlines and to coordinate inputs from others and steer them effectively where necessary.
  • Negotiating and 'selling' design solutions/ideas both internally and externally.
  • Managing multiple demands, often conflicting, whilst delivering attractive and customer focussed design solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Working to tight deadlines and timescales as designs move from concept to reality in a short and at times demanding timeframe.
As the Bespoke Designer, you should have the following skills/experiences/competencies:

  • B.A or M.A. in Industrial Design or Automotive Design or equivalent, with proven skills and a Portfolio. Relevant design experience is expected within either the automotive industry or related field, and preferably the super luxury market.
  • Both 2D graphical and 3D product design skills and an appreciation of colour and materials. Understand technical and packaging issues and concepts. 3D modelling tools is an advantage (eg Autodesk Alias, Blender). 3D visualisation/render tools is an advantage(eg VRED).
  • Creativity and presentation skills are required using both traditional sketching skills as well as digital techniques (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • High level of negotiating skills and awareness of differing international cultures is helpful.
  • Confidence and experience in dealing with colleagues at all levels from Board level down and extremely demanding customers is expected.
  • German language skills useful.
  • Driving licence is an advantage.
