About the role:

Within this role you will be part of a larger student facing professional services team that supports the student experience from registration to graduation.

This role will be focussing on the student support and progression aspects of programme administration.


You will be actively involved in assisting the wider Law School Student Support Team in a variety of student led activities.

During term time, key responsibilities include the processing of attendance information and data, responding to enquiries from current students both in person and online, as well as staff from across the University particularly from wider University Support Services, recording information and updating of spreadsheets, supporting with organising and delivering student events, reviewing sensitive information and referring to senior members of the Team and updating of Blackboard.

Outside of term time, there may be opportunities to gain further experience in other aspects of the School's work such as organising events, supporting student recruitment activities, taking part in applicant visit days, learning about assessment processes, workload allocation and finance.


You will benefit from significant on the job training and supervision by the Student Support Manager and Student Support Team Leader, as well as other members of the wider Team.

You will also be able to access the training and professional development opportunities offered by the University to its staff.


About you:

You will be seeking to develop a career in an academic student facing environment, delivering support to a wide range of student needs and activities.

You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and be able to adapt your communication style to suit a wide variety of situations.


You will have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail, good IT skills and knowledge including use of Microsoft Office package, alongside excellent organisational and planning skills.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the ability to use their initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently.
