One of the UK's leading providers of business services within the Life and Disability health insurance sector are offering fantastic opportunities to join an existing underwriting team whilst working from home.

This role as Medical Underwriter will beresponsible for underwriting customer's life and disability Health Declaration medical assessments
As a Medical Underwriter you will be responsible for:

  • Working cohesively with all team members in the attainment of service excellence for the Protection customer.
  • Preparing and issuing standard and nonstandard customer terms using the templates provided and to adjust templates when nonstandard.
  • Using mechanisms in place to request medical evidence, including writing to the customer and obtaining information from third parties.
  • Providing information / undertaking tasks in response to customer requests or as dictated by product / company requirements, ensuring that the work processed meet agreed company & customer service standards & conforms to legal, regulatory & business standards.
  • Managing queries that come into the team mailbox within 48 hours. To challenge existing processes in a professional, clear and logical way and be supportive of process improvements to improve the experience of the Protection customer.
We are keen on speaking to people about this Medical Underwriter opportunity with the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of working within Medical Underwriting within life and disability policies.
  • Making an accurate assessment of individual risk from a Customers life and disability policies
  • Declaration.
  • Able to underwrite life and disability policiesHealth Declarations.
  • Understanding of underwriting manuals and processes for life and disability policies.
  • Understanding of the life and disability policies products which require underwriting input.
  • Maintains underwriting knowledge with industry and market changes. Inquisitive and Customer centric approach with an ability to think outside of the norm and challenge existing processes.
This is a remote working 6 month contract position working full time hours Monday to Friday. In return, as an underwriter you will receive a pay rate of £400 per day inside IR35.
You will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau and Equifax Credit check for this project.
