Are you an Electrical Engineer looking for a motivating role where you can make a difference in supporting the Defence of the United Kingdom? If so, we have excellent opportunities to join our Land and Ships Engineering domains here at DE&S


As an Electrical Engineer, you will join one of our teams of highly skilled and motivated engineers and specialists, responsible for conducting electrical equipment verification and validation activities.


As part of the Land Equipment Operating Centre (LEOC), you will support the delivery of various Land Equipment projects including Armoured fighting Vehicles, Main Battle Tanks, Artillery and Multi Launch Rocket Systems.

You will have the chance to attendtrials for this equipment, all in an effort to support our Armed Forces.


As part of the Ships Domain, you will help ensure the platforms and equipment we deliver to the Royal Navy are available and safe to operate by providing engineering support and assurance on all activities related to electrical power and distribution systems.

Please note, there may be some domestic travel to other UK sites and potential international travel involved with these positions.


Responsibilities for Electrical Engineer In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Determine customer requirements and generating technical specifications for equipment and/or systems.
  • Manage equipment and/or system electrical requirements and their acceptance throughout the life cycle.
  • Develop, update and upgrade options for technology innovations.
  • Identify technical options to replace equipment in a safe, timely, and costeffective manner.
  • Assist with the development of engineering assurancebased documentation and overseeing assurance activities related to project.
  • Electrical design or electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience working with a variety of internal/external stakeholders.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:

  • Technical Requirements, Evaluation and Acceptance (Supervised Practitioner).
  • Improve Engineering capability (Supervised Practitioner).
  • Communicating and influencing.
  • Making effective decisions.
