About The Role
As Head of Commercial you will be accountable for managing the overall contracts portfolio within Cadent's network.

Below is a list of the general requirements of the role;

  • Accountable for managing the overall portfolio of contracts within the COO function

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountability of all Commercial contract management across our operational business areas
  • Driving commercial value through all operational business areas supporting the efficient, effective and agile delivery of our business plans
  • Leading the Contract management teams who are aligned to business areas and ensuring that best practice, innovation and efficiency rationale is applied consistently
  • Best utilising the existing skills which exists within our teams, developing improved core competencies within our team and creating a high performing and effective Commercial Contract Management Approach
  • Positively engage with our supply chain partners to create "win win" solutions and aligned objectives which deliver our business plan
  • Responsible for reducing total operational costs, improving supplier resilience, building relationships to develop a more informed view of our supply chain partners, reviewing procurement arrangements frequently to ensure that they are effective and meeting current requirements
  • Working closely with central procurement team to ensure that all procurement processes are commercially informed, operationally endorsed and compliant with EU Procurement regulations
  • Reporting to the Director of Commercial, the Head of Commercial Contract Management will be directly responsible for the strategic oversight of all our commercial contract activity and our need to improve contract management controls through robust and effective management information
  • Ensure that contract management disciplines are agile develop future contracting strategies
  • Ensuring that we have a current data set of all existing frameworks, who is active within them, what volume / type of activity is undertaken with each supply chain partner within them and most importantly a data driven assessment of performance and, in particular, contract management performance in line with contractual KPI or equivalent measures
  • Working in collaboration with central procurement to ensure that operational and commercial input is supporting our overarching procurement plan
  • Maintaining a view of works programmes and required activity with our operational business areas and ensuring that our operational frameworks are appropriate to meet those requirements
  • Advising, supporting and remediating any system and process requirements to support the effective delivery of the role
  • Engaging collaboratively with many internal stakeholders to influence procurement activity
  • Develop a supplier database which allows us to build upon our supply chain partner relationships for mutual benefit; develop a view of supply chain partner resilience, criticality and performance
