The role
Our Veterinary Care Assistants, known as Patient Care Assistants are an integral part of the team in practice.

You will typically be supporting 4-6 practices performing a variety of duties, such as ensuring the practice maintains high clinical standards throughout, maintaining kennels and the general environment following cleaning protocols, feeding animals, animal handling and behaviour, reporting back to and assisting nurses with patient care and preparing medical equipment.


As a support role, you will be required to assist with front of house duties, including but not limited to, booking and amending appointments and operations, taking payments, assisting with sign up of our health plan etc.

As you will also be working at our 24-hour hospital, you will be supporting our reception team for leave as well as shifts on weekends and bank holidays.

Skills and experience Please upload your certificates (
not statements) and list your grades on your CV, including Maths and English. This will ensure a smooth and faster recruitment process.**Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to hold a full UK driving license.

Required:


Applicants must hold 5
GCSEs at grade C / 4 or above to include Maths, English Language and a Science and be in possession of examination certificates or Functional Skills level 2 (not entry level).

Alternatively, City & Guilds will accept alternative qualifications, e.g.

Veterinary Care Assistant Certificate, Animal Nursing Assistant Award or National Diploma in Animal Care - you will still be required to provide proof of GCSE Maths and English and provide the original certificates.

If you have taken your qualifications abroad, we will require a NARIC comparison.
