We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable Administration Officer Receptionist to join our supportive and welcoming team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff working within the Lyneham Medical Centre located at Lyneham, Wiltshire.
The position is fixed term until Jan 2024 (covering Maternity Leave) offering 37 hours per week and requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Person specification:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Preparing documentation for all clinics, checking documents after clinics and taking appropriate action and filing away documents promptly.
- Receiving and assisting patients and visitors, directing to others as appropriate.
- Handling all general enquiries from patients and others, in person and on the telephone, and takes and records messages for other members of the team.
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
- Contributing to effective liaison with internal agencies i.e. other medical facilities and other organisations involved in the provision of medical care.
Desirable Skills:
- Information Technology (IT) literate.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be prepared to work as part of a team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.

This is a Fixed-term Appointment as an Administration Officer in the Lyneham Medical Centre. Your responsibilities will be as described in this job advert. The reason why you are appointed for a fixed period is due Maternity Leave. This post will therefore begin on your appointment and end on 16/01/2024.
You should be aware that when your Fixed-term Appointment at MOD comes to an end, arrangements will be made in line with the FTA policy.
If you are a permanent MoD civil servant and are found successful for an advertised Fixed-term Appointment (FTA) you should move into the post under a Temporary Transfer (for up to a maximum of 3 years).
If this posting is at a higher grade, your promotion will be temporary, and you will return to your substantive grade at the end of the Temporary Transfer.
If a Temporary Transfer cannot be agreed between all parties then a transfer on an FTA contract is possible, read the FTA and Change of Work Location in the UK policy for further information.
