Description

Overview:

At Change Grow Live (CGL), West Lothian Recovery Service we are looking to build up a team of Group Support volunteers, to enable us to continue to develop this resource and make recovery more visible and accessible throughout West Lothian.

As a Group Support Volunteer, you will be working alongside our Groupwork Coordinator and Recovery Workers, supporting service users to engage with and participate in groups.

This will involve you co-facilitating various recovery orientated groups and activities.

You will receive full training, support and work towards co-facilitating groupwork sessions and community activities.

This particular volunteer role is ideal for someone with lived experience of addictions and/or experience of working within group training sessions as you will be helping and supporting staff to deliver and co-facilitate groupwork and training.

You may also have the opportunity to support and co-facilitate alongside the Volunteer Coordinator in the training programme.

Responsibilities:

At CGL, you will be working with people to help them; change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.

Occasionally, volunteers may have the opportunity to gain other skills and support the team by covering the duty volunteer rota.

This involves being in the office undertaking light office tasks, photocopying, assisting with phone calls and greeting service users/guests on arrival.

This is an ideal role for someone with lived experience, who is patient, good with people, is aware of and can maintain boundaries and understands the importance of confidentiality.

You will have a friendly and enthusiastic personality to support the work of Change Grow Live in group training settings.
