MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
Working on short production runs of specialist pyrotechnic items the Production Operative will follow process instructions, health and safety guidance and exacting quality standards to build high quality products within tight deadlines.
Sometimes working with hazardous material, but also materials such as metals, plastics and wood, you will make defence and civil security products which are supplied to customers all over the world.
Other duties include receiving & handling of dangerous goods, packing and shipping of finished products & ensuring that items are adequately and correctly packed for international export.
You will also assist with research and development, producing prototype items and helping with proofing and testing, both on and off site, and assisting in housekeeping and maintenance as required.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To manufacture and assemble a range of pyrotechnic products
- To assist with deliveries and collections to and from site
- To assist in any internal or external trials when needed
- To carry out the packing and shipping of goods
- Site maintenance as required
- To follow policies regarding Health & Safety
- To maintain procedures on quality control and KPI's
- To adhere to the internal housekeeping policy
- To follow site safety and security procedures
- To work in line with all other employment policies and procedures as outlined in the Energetics Technology company handbook
- Any other duties that may be required

They require someone who enjoys working, has a wide range of skills, a methodical approach and an eye for detail.
This will at times be a physically demanding job and applicants must be willing to lift items and materials over 25kg in weight.
They will have experience working in workshop or production environments before especially in mechanical/electrical assembly, soldering, pressing, chemical processing & pyrotechnics.

Clear and concise communication skills both orally and in writing
Numerate
General level computer skills
Ability to record data accurately
Good knowledge of tools and manufacturing methods
Ability to follow process instructions correctly

Ability to interpret technical drawings
Experience
Essential
Experience in a manufacturing role
Use of hand tools, machine tools and production machinery
Desirable
Experience of spray painting
Micro-Mechanical assembly
Dangerous goods awareness
Chemical safety assessments
Chemical handling
Dangerous goods handling
Soldering
Use of Pneumatic/hydraulic press systems
Qualifications/licenses
Essential
Clean full UK driving license
DBS checked
Desirable
GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
Experience of ISO9001:2015 procedures
Current Forklift / telehandler license
Trained First Aider

Safely able to lift items over 25kg

£10.00-£11.00 per hour
