Our energy team is working on a variety of exciting, innovative projects and opportunities, around the UK and across the world.

We are keen to hear from enthusiastic individuals with an interest and relevant experience in environmental impact assessment and/or consents management, ideally in this sector, to join our team and be a vital part of our plans for growth.

Mott MacDonald's energy environment and social team is at the leading edge of delivering environmental services for energy projects.
We are recruiting at all levels although have specific, immediate needs, for a senior level environmental consultant.
The focus of the role will be the environmental assessment of energy projects in the UK.
However, there will also be opportunities to work on projects in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

We are involved in some of the most significant generation projects in the world, including solar, hydro, wind, and thermal generation technologies.


Key elements of the role will include:

  • Coordinating specialists' inputs
  • Working closely with our engineering colleagues to ensure environmental considerations are made during project development
- guiding junior team members
- managing projects
- liaising with clients
- managing sub-consultants
- preparing proposals
- travel


You'd be part of a truly multidisciplinary team; working alongside some of the best environmental specialists, social specialists and engineers in the industry.


  • Fluent in English
  • Experience of key roles in EIAs for UK energy projects such as solar, hydro, wind, and thermal generation technologies
- able to review complex documents, summaries and present the key issues in a clear and concise way
- understanding of the technical aspects of energy projects
- ability to travel
- strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- aptitude in identification, progression, delivery and success in tendering for new project opportunities
- able to work within a team and motivate others to deliver to high standards
- able to meet challenging budgets and timescales
- membership of a relevant professional institute.


Desirable:

  • A high standard in an environmental specialism and a broader awareness of other environmental or social disciplines
  • Fluent in French or Spanish
- experience of options appraisals and iterative design processes

  • Experience of environmental permitting
- understanding of the technical aspects of other major infrastructure projects #LI-MM2
