Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is the operational name of Aneurin Bevan University Local Health Board.

The Health Board was established on the 1st October 2009 and covers the areas of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport, Torfaen and South Powys.

The hospitals are sited in Cwmbran (The Grange University Hospital, Specialist and Critical Care Centre), Newport (Royal Gwent Hospital), Abergavenny (Nevill Hall Hospital) and Ystrad Mynach (Ysbyty Ystrad Mynach) as well as community hospitals.


The Health Board is developing a plan which will see the size of the Consultant team increase to 12 WTE within the next 2 years.


You will be working within a team to provide a clinical and laboratory Cellular Pathology service to a catchment population of 600,000.

The laboratory has full UKAS ISO15189 accreditation, and is networked to provide a comprehensive Cellular Pathology service to the area.
