Role Purpose:


Our customer is looking for an IT Security Specialist, who possesses a good understanding of IT systems and networks, supply chain, insider threat and behavioural security.

You will protect against cyber-attacks, implementing best security practices and controls,and collaborating with others across the whole team to ensure that security is built into everything that is done.

There will be a requirement to provide occasional out of hours security cover on a call out rota.
UK Security Clearance is a requirement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify, manage and improve cyber security risk controls, risk indicators and risk mitigation projects with an emphasis on technical, supply chain and behavioural security
  • Support compliance to Cyber Essentials and ISO27001 accreditation
  • Support the remediation of security incidents, threats, vulnerabilities, and issues
  • Maintain awareness of security technologies, tools, emerging threats, trends and issues, understanding how they impact our Cyber risk profile and information confidentiality, integrity and availability
  • Update and maintain security policies, procedures and processes
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues
  • Assist in responding to Security related questions for new client tenders
  • Prepare management reports for various audiences
Skills and Experience

  • Two or more years' experience in a security related role, preferably in one or more of IT security, operational security, security design/architecture, security risk management, governance & compliance or Significant experience in Information Technologyshowing a keenness and aptitude to move into a security role
  • Understanding or practical use of security tools/products such as antimalware, firewalls, vulnerability scanning etc
  • Good IT background familiar with endpoints, systems and networks
  • Experience of Cyber Essentials and ISO2700
  • Ability to communicate at all levels written, virtual and face to face
  • Ability to effectively plan and organise daytoday and weekly activity
  • Proactive, 'cando' attitude
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Good collaboration skills working with others inside and outside the company
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Highly selfmotivated and directed
  • Ability to build rapport a relationship with all levels of internal and external customers

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent or lesser qualification with relevant experience
  • Security related qualification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC desirable
