Niche Education Ltd are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a school in Darlington.

The school, based in Middlesbrough, is a specialist provider for children with special educational needs.

Children who attend this school will usually have a Statement of Educational Need or an Education, Health and Care Plans.

The school are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join a dedicated and hardworking team of specialised support staff.

They are looking for people who will enjoy being effective in supporting students with complex needs and who have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in their students.

Be a qualified teaching assistant or have the transferable skills needed
Have worked with children or young adults with special needs before
Be able to engage with children or young adults and enforce positive behaviour
Be able to challenge children or young adults when they display negative behaviour
Be able to build a strong, respectful rapport with children or young adults with SEND
Be resilient and able to remain calm under stressful situations
Have exceptionally good communication skills
Be responsive, flexible and sensitive to the differing needs of pupils
