Due to rising demand from Teaching Personnel partner schools, we are looking to recruit
Trainee and Experienced Teaching Assistants to support the needs of SEN schools around the
ROYSTON area.


If you are looking for a full-time role (following a successful temporary period), where you will be supporting children with SEN, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), PMLD (Profoundand multiple learning difficulties),or SEMH, We would like to hear from you


Essential criteria

  • Supporting children with SEN (either in a professional or personal way)
  • Relevant experience that can be transitioned into a SEN school environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance of supporting young people with special educational needs.
  • A positive and sensitive attitude towards children with special educational needs, their parent/carers and to those from various social and cultural backgrounds

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties and very challenging behaviour within a school setting
  • Clear understanding of strategies for successful behavioural management principles and practice
  • Knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD and additional difficulties
  • Be able to deal with difficult emotionally charged situations
  • Resolve conflict and deal with criticism effectively
  • Experience of various communication systems
  • A commitment and knowledge about safeguarding vulnerable children and keeping children/young adult's safe
Strong behaviour management skills
Team Teach trained (desired but not essential)
Previous experience working with students with SEN/Challenging Behaviour
Experience in youth work
A nurturing but firm personality
Competitive pay weekly
Available 5 days a week between 8:30am and 4:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
