Job description

Student Wellbeing is a multi-disciplinary team of mental health practitioners, counsellors, specialist mentors, school-based practitioners, and wellbeing administrators.

Our purpose is to reduce barriers to learning by promoting positive wellbeing and by facilitating access to appropriate support or care where needed for our students.

Our work is underpinned by the principles of the University Mental Health Charter and we have a key role in developing a whole university approach to mental health.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Wellbeing Practitioner (Counselling) to join our busy team to offer short-term counselling (up to 6 sessions) and assessment appointments.

You must have a recognised qualification and professional accreditation in counselling or psychotherapy and substantial post-qualifying experience in working with people with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

You will have experience using outcome measurement, as a therapeutic tool with clients and for reflective practice, and experience in assessing and mitigating for risk.

You will also have a good understanding of current issues in higher education and a good knowledge of referral agencies and pathways.

You would be joining our team at an exciting time when we are working towards achieving the University Mental Health Charter award.

The successful applicant can expect a comprehensive induction with ongoing clinical supervision, peer support, and line management support.

Closing date:
Wednesday 25 January :59)

Working here means you'll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
