Description

Weston College
Weston College is one of the leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education in the United Kingdom. It is renowned for outstanding learning with more than 30,000 learners choosing to study there. Since 2001, it has grown from a turnover of £8m to £70m plus.

The college transforms futures:
powering the future workforce, supporting local economic prosperity and shaping the health and sustainability of its communities.

Their mission statement is 'creating brighter futures', alongside a focus on 'delivering careers not courses'.

The college is immensely proud of its focus on inclusivity and the work it delivers as one of the United Kingdom's Centres of Excellence in SEND.

It is IIP (Platinum), TEF (Gold), as well as Ofsted (Outstanding) and Financial Health (Outstanding). The ethos is one where everyone, staff and learners alike, can flourish in an entrepreneurial and supportive environment.

With investment in excess of £100m in recent years and the leadership of the West of England Institute of Technology and University Centre Weston, they invest in skills delivery across the South West of England.

As a result of the retirement of the current Principal and Chief Executive, Sir Paul Phillips, the college is now seeking to appoint a new leader to take the college on the next stage of its journey.

The new leader will inherit a committed and agile team who deliver responsive solutions to learning, finances and resource management.

The combination of inspirational teaching with sound business techniques has created innovative and dedicated state-of-the-art resources for all learning.

The college now needs to further develop this work, ensuring development of partnerships in learning with the business communities they serve, ensuring excellence in quality at all times.

Whilst we would welcome interest from leaders currently operating at Principal / CEO level in Further Education, Higher Education or from the larger Multi Academy Trusts, we are also keen to receive interest from ambitious leaders or Vice Principal / Deputy Principals or similar level for whom this role would be the next logical career step.

Our ideal person will have the ability to empower others, to collaborate locally, regionally and nationally.

Additionally, financial acumen, strong ambassadorial skills, the ability to take calculated risk and the capacity to inspire will be key to success in this role.
