The Role:

An opportunity has arisen to join the Highways division in the Environment and Leisure Department as Senior Sustainable Travel Officer.

We are looking for someone for this Grade 11 role for a fixed term period of 12 months.

You will be leading a team of up to 5 delivering sustainable travel initiatives across the borough, including road safety education, training, school travel planning, travel awareness initiatives and cycling programme.

Ensuring effective delivery of behaviour change and sustainable travel projects within required parameters of time, quality, and cost.

About You:

A degree in a relevant discipline or relevant professional qualification or equivalent level of experience
A detailed understanding of how local authorities can work with communities to effect behaviour change.
A detailed understanding of the current context and best practice for road safety education and sustainable travel.
A detailed understanding of the management and delivery of projects including budgetary management.
A good understanding of how the successful implementation of sustainable travel initiatives can contribute to the council's wider priorities around sustainability, public health and regeneration
Experience of Management of quality management and control systems for projects
