An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our expanding team as an Assessor (
qualified or unqualified) within our Construction department.
Principle role.
As a qualified Assessor, the main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the delivery and assessment of Construction Qualifications, ensuring learners are supported to achieve in a timely manner.
- Deliver NVQ/QCF training and assessment in line with Company and Awarding Body quality standards
- Managing the assessment procedure from planning through to making and recording assessment decisions
- Participate in Standardisation meetings/peer observations/learning walks/quality assurance checks
- Develop close working relationships with relevant College staff, ensuring all learners on your caseload are supported through their qualifications
- Develop professional relationships with learners to ensure their continued engagement on the programme and successful completion of their Individual Learning Plan
- Review learners progress through 1:1 meetings and monthly/Bi monthly reviews in the training centre or workplace
- Monitor progress and adapt, responding to learning needs
- Assist with the recruitment of learners through interaction with Employers or Placement providers.
- Work as part of a team to ensure a quality learner experience
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience of working within a Construction Trade discipline
- Assessor Award (TQAQ/A1/D32 33) or prepared to work toward
- Proactive, engaging and approachable training style
- An understanding of differentiation in delivery and barriers to successful achievement
- Ability to converse in Welsh is desirable and the commitment to learn is essential
- Car owner/driver is essential.
As an unqualified Assessor, you would work toward the successful completion of your TAQA, within a set timeframe, under the guidance of the Lead Assessor and Quality Manager.
Salary range:
£23,000 unqualified - £29,000 qualified pa depending on experience and qualifications, reviewed after probationary period of 6 months.
35 hour working week.
Generous package of 32 days annual leave entitlement.
Travel reimbursement at 45p per mile
