Description
B22 is a 23 bedded orthopaedic ward, which specialises in hip fractures. B22 is a very busy rewarding ward to work on. The ward cares for patients' pre and post hip surgery, following a fall or trauma.

Due to an increase of patients having cognitive impairment and or Dementia, we work closely with "partnership in care" and are working towards becoming a dementia friendly ward to improve patient care for some of our most vulnerable patients.


An exciting opportunity to be part of the team on B22 as a Band 2 health care assistant has become available.

This post covers both days and nights on rotation.

As a member of the team you need to have good communication skills both written and verbally. Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and relatives. Be a good team member able to work closely with colleagues in sometimes difficult situations.

  • Patient personal care
  • Meal delivery
  • Assisting with feeding
  • Attending to hygiene needs
  • Maintains ward cleanliness
  • Ensuring all patients needs is met and supporting activities of daily living.
  • Providing 1:4 care and or 1:1 care for patients with dementia or a cognitive impairment
  • The post is rotational on days/nights, and will include weekend and evening work over 7 days.
