Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group Quality Manager, the Quality Advisor will be an integral part of the Project Management team providing support and guidance to ensure that our projects are delivered to a high standard and to our contractual requirements.
This will be achieved by becoming embedded within the team to plan what the quality requirements are as early as possible and how these will be achieved.
Duties will include:
- Continual promotion of our Quality ethos and culture at all levels in the Company and with subcontractors;
- Ensure working practices align with our Quality processes/procedures and comply with both statutory and regulatory legislation;
- Manage the Quality KPI's on our projects and drive improvements across these including the creation of reports for senior management;
- Provide Quality support to our projects and management teams in the form of training, guidance, coaching and advice;
- Carry out audits on our projects, supply chain and internal functions;
- Review Subcontractor Quality documentation from preaward, prestart, ITP's, checklists, Non-Conformances to ensure compliance;
- Actively look for new approaches, best practices and technologies to improve the consistency of our installations and make these as lean as possible;
- Gather information to create and issue Quality alerts to prevent reoccurrence of failures across our business;
- Lead workshops in conjunction with our project teams to understand the root cause of failures using 8D;
- Escalate to management where Quality falls below the high level expected and produce a plan to improve this;
- Attend any Quality related meetings on our projects, internally, with our supply chain/clients;
- Participate in any Quality improvement projects;
- Provide support to the work winning and preconstruction teams in the form of PQQ's and tender submissions;
- Monitor customer feedback to improve how we deliver our projects and to become the contractor of choice through positive advocacy;
- Support our projects in the closure and investigation of Nonconformances and defects;
- Lead and deliver Quality initiatives to help raises awareness of the importance of good Quality management;
- Travel and overnight stays will be required to visit/support our projects.
Qualifications
Professionally qualified within the Quality field (Member of the CQI to at least Practitioner Level (PCQI or higher);
Experience
- Proven track record as an operational Quality Advisor within the Construction industry delivering continuous Quality Improvement Projects;
- Knowledge of quality standards, audit procedures and integrated management systems;
- Root Cause Analysis investigation experience;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to present both face to face and via webinars;
- Must have excellent organizational and management skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team and to positively influence others;
- Selfmotivation and a drive to achieve business improvement as well as personal improvement;
- IT literate in Microsoft Office tools;
- Can work as part of a team and own their own initiative;
- Experienced in digital quality assurance systems;
- Lead Auditor (preferred) or internal auditor (mandatory);
- A current CSCS Card.
