Salary:
Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience


What you'll be doing:


  • Be the focal point for Dimensional Control on Critical alignment activities
  • Utilise metrology measurement techniques and toolsets for the alignment of Exhaust systems, Shaft line equipment and combat systems seats
  • Document, and report findings in the Quality management systems
  • Give advice to Production teams on findings and attend progress meetings when required
  • Support development of the Dimensional Control team in terms of innovation and training

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:


  • Proven track record of large scale measurement in Metrology or Dimensional Control
  • Fully conversant with CMM's, Laser Trackers and Total Stations
  • Expert in Spatial analyser, PC-DMIS or similar inspection software

Desirable:


  • Ship build and repair background
  • Capable of modelling in a 3D cad environment

Our Dimensional Control Team:


As a Metrology inspector, you will be tasked to provide expert dimensional control support to the Type 26 Combatant programme in critical alignment activities whilst assisting in the development of dimensional control within Naval Ships and supporting a team of dimensional control professionals that utilise a range survey equipment, software and techniques in the various shipbuilding activities.
