Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our well-established, friendly and busy Outpatients team to provide a first class service for our patients, working in our Appointments team and Reception areas at Ipswich Hospital.

You should have a proven record in customer service and experience of working with the public.

You will have good communication and Information Technology skills, the ability to work well in a team and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

You will also need to be able to plan and prioritise effectively.


Our operational hours are Monday - Thursday and Friday This post holder will need to be flexible across the working week in line with service requirements and this may include occasional weekend work and weekdays until 8pm.

We currently have several vacancies both for full time and part time permanent posts.

  • To ensure the efficient, accurate and timely recording of data
  • To provide an efficient and courteous service both through telephone and face to face
  • Man reception desk
  • Manage follow up waiting list and make followup appointments for clinics
  • Manage eRS (eReferral Service) to ensure patient referrals are booked and actioned in a timely manner
  • Working in line with Key Performer Indicators (KPIs) meeting service delivery targets for the Trust

  • To ensure the efficient, accurate and timely recording of data
  • To provide an efficient and courteous service both through telephone and face to face
  • Check in patients via reception desk
  • Man reception desk
  • Manage follow up waiting lists
  • Making followup appointments for clinics
  • Manage eRS (eReferral Service) to ensure patient referrals are booked and actioned in a timely manner
  • Management of Data Quality reporting
  • Working in line with Key Performer Indicators (KPIs) meeting service delivery targets for the Trust
  • Cancel and rebook appointments as required
  • Book from PTL booking lists
  • Contacting patients by phone to arrange appointments. Answering calls to patients contacting the Trust.
  • At the start of clinic print clinic lists and check that all notes are available and where necessary liaise with the Medical Records staff to obtain outstanding notes. Ensure that all the relevant documentation is available for consultation e.g. referral letters
  • Checking the patients' personal details, updating where necessary on the computer and in the case notes
  • At the end of clinic ensure that all attendances and disposals are entered onto the system
  • Learn systems associated to Outpatients such as eRS, LRC, Clarity etc
