This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Dietitian. This post will enable you to consolidate and increase your skills and experience within the speciality of diabetes.

The post holder will work within the established diabetes services across South Tees Community and James Cook University Hospital.

The post will give the opportunity to be involved in developing the service alongside other dietetic colleagues and health professionals.

Patients will include people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

You will deliver expert dietary advice in a range of clinics as part of an MDT including at times young adolescent clinics, antenatal clinics, insulin pump clinics and dietitian led clinic and work with specialist Diabetes specialist nurses to deliver the DESMOND programme.


You will primarily be based within South Tees community and also at the James Cook University Hospital with some clinics and support within South Tees Community department.

There may also at times be cover services at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton as part of the wider South Tees NHS Foundation Trust Nutrition and Dietetic Service.


The post hold will be actively encouraged to participate in clinical governance, audit and Continuous Professional Development activities within the Strive Centre.


We have been Base Trainers for student dietitians for a number of years, currently taking "A," "B" and "C" placement students, with the programmes shared across all of our localities.

The ability to travel independently between localities is essential for this post.

The trust is based near to major airports at Leeds, Teeside and Newcastle and is on the transpennine.
