The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body.

The Research & Evaluation team has been established to enable SQA to ensure decision making is evidence based, drawing on a sound understanding of SQA's existing provision and best practice from around the world.


  • Plan and conduct the dissemination of research, insight and analysis produced by Research & Evaluation,
  • Ensure that the research, insight and analysis carried out by Research & Evaluation is readily accessible to colleagues
  • Produce briefings, analysis and presentations, as and when required, including for senior management
  • Carry out and manage primary research projects
  • Work with colleagues across the organisation to understand their research needs, and to promote the work the team does for SQA.
Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Producing high quality work that considers the needs of different audiences, and helps them understand complex research findings.
  • Highlevel organisational and planning skills to prioritise a complex workload and coordinate the dissemination of multiple pieces of research simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Experience in creating infographics would be highly beneficial.
Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF level 9 degree level or equivalent. A post-graduate qualification or experience working in a similar role would be advantageous.
