Cafe Caban is a light airy building set in beautiful grounds with mature trees, allotments and a kitchen garden with poly tunnel.

We have seating for around 60 indoors, supplemented by a large decking area for sunny days and sheltered huts for alfresco dining in all weathers.


Caban Cyf's mission, as a social enterprise, is to provide a hub for the local community where people can meet and we can provide them with high quality food and drinks.

Our focus is on creating a variety of tasty interesting food with a focus on seasonality using fresh produced sourced locally wherever possible.


We are a small, friendly staff team, enthusiastic about our work but equally so about the time we have to spend in beautiful North Wales enjoying the various activities it has to offer.


Front of House Staff, Full Time, Permanent
You will hold a key role in front of house aspects of Caban Cafe.

Working with the Executive Chef, FOH Shift Leaders and other team members ensuring that front of house runs in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering consistently high standards expected by our customers, whilst being pro-active in improving turnover and ensuring profitability.


Job Purpose

  • Maintain the clear standards of working practice required daily
  • Work to Caban Cyf's highest standards, including:
  • Food hygiene
  • Health and Safety and other regulations
  • Care and proper use of front of house equipment
  • Completing food production, delivery and storage records
  • Assisting with stock control process; receiving, checking deliveries and storing correctly to minimise shrinkage and wastage

Key Responsibilities

  • Work to high levels of FOH service with a particular focus on optimising the customer experience
  • Be proactive in promoting sales and maintaining and exceeding customers expectations
  • Ensure the café and staff are welcoming, presentable and safe at all times
  • Prepare and present the daily food/drinks offer as agreed with the managers, appropriate to the time of day and type of customer being served
  • Ensure alcohol is sold in line with the Licensing Act 2003 and the 'Think 25' policy
  • Correct handling of deliveries and storage of goods
  • Processing of sales, card payments, opening and closing tills.
  • Carry out daily checks, opening and closing procedures and cleaning routines. Comply with all food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Liaise with staff and Front of House manager to make them aware of any building/equipment related incidents or issues
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and prepared to assist in an evacuation or incident
  • Undertake recycling and composting correctly keeping wastage to a minimum.
  • Follow all daily/weekly/monthly procedures and checks as required.
  • To direct part time staff in the absence of the FOH manager.

General Duties

  • Support the aims and objectives of Caban Cyf both internally and externally
  • Attend meetings training sessions as required
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Front of House Manager or Executive Director

Hours: 3/4 days per week (24/32 hours per week) Weekend working is required for this role.

Pay:
£9.90 per hour
, plus tips. We are a Real Living Wage Employer.
