About the Role


As SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all students with special educational needs receive the tailored support and guidance they require to reach their full potential.


You will be responsible for:

Leading and developing the school's SEN provision: Collaborating with teachers, leadership teams, and external agencies to create and implement effective strategies for identifying, assessing, and supporting students with SEN.

Building strong working relationships: Fostering positive relationships with students, parents/carers, teachers, and other professionals involved in supporting SEN students.

Providing expert advice and guidance: Offering specialist knowledge and expertise to ensure all staff understand and implement best practices in SEN support.

Monitoring and evaluating SEN provision: Regularly reviewing and analysing data to measure the effectiveness of interventions and continually improve SEN practices.

Leading and managing the SEN team: Providing effective leadership and support to SEN teaching assistants and other staff involved in SEN provision.


Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in SEN, such as an MSc or PGCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a SENCo or in a similar leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing effective SEN strategies
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Passionate about supporting students with SEN and promoting their inclusion
