About the Role:


As a Trainee Estates Surveyor, you will be part of the dynamic Property Services Estates team, providing crucial support to the Estates function.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in property management, including assisting with property valuations, leasing, sales and acquisitions.


In this role, you will be expected to undertake formal education and training on a day release or similar basis for a property-related degree.

In addition, you will be encouraged to pursue RICS membership and accreditation as a Chartered Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Valuations:Assist in preparing property valuations for purchases, sales, and leases.

Sales and Acquisitions:Support qualified staff in the sale and acquisition process, including drafting property particulars, negotiating deals, and collaborating with Legal Services.

Committee Reports:Contribute to the preparation of Committee reports and strategies related to property activities.

Inspections:Conduct property inspections and accurate measurements for various purposes.

Team Collaboration:Participate in team meetings and other activities within the Service.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:Educated to SCQF level 6 (including NC or Highers) or equivalent.

Part-Time Study:You'll undertake formal education and training on a day release basis, leading to a degree qualification in Estate Management or a similar RICS accredited course.

RICS Membership:Aspire to pursue RICS membership and accreditation as a Chartered Surveyor.

Experience:While not essential, experience in property development, valuation, disposals, acquisitions, or leasing of commercial properties would be advantageous.

Communication:Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Flexibility:A flexible attitude and willingness to adapt.

Teamwork:Strong team working skills.


In addition to the qualifications outlined above the applicants should be organised and able to demonstrate an aptitude to think clearly and logically.

An ability to communicate orally and in writing and able to utilise Microsoft software will be required. As will an enthusiastic approach to work and a willingness to undertake further study.


Though predominately office based there will be a need to undertake a range of tasks on site, a full driving licence would be advantageous.


Working Hours:


The standard working hours for this role are
full-time , typically Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility based on business needs.


Benefits:

Competitive salary within the FC- FC6 grade range. (£23,633pa (£12.59/hour) -£28,251(£15.05/hour). Initial placing and progression according to the Estates scheme of progression.
