Hybrid working (1-2 days per week on site in Peterborough)

Deliver high quality cost reporting and insight, strong financial controls and creative financial support to the Group, seeking to actively contribute to achieving sustainable profit, growth and cost control.

The role will also provide challenge to the businesson spend, tracking of performance within the year.


Responsibilities:


  • Support and implement the cost inputs into the organisation's annual operating and capital budgets; prepare forecasts for short and longterm operating results; and analyses major budget variances for presentation to the Senior Management.
  • Develop and maintain robust recharge methodologies and clear understanding and explanations of the impacts to business units.
  • Drive delivery of the cost targets, provide transparency on performance and minimise surprises
  • Business Partnering with Executive members and their direct reports to ensure ownership of cost budgets and delivery of targets
  • Monitor cost performance of the business and appraise SMT and other Exec members on key risks and opportunities
  • Deliver Cost reporting and Initiative tracking throughout the year, so that Execs feel accountable for delivery of the plan
  • Partner with the Financial Controls team to review processes across the group to reduce effort and drive standardization across the organisation
  • Work with Procurement to identify & deliver cost savings
  • Assist the Senior Manager with adhoc projects to positively impact on the key priorities of the business
  • Working alongside key business stakeholders to report, forecast & control operating expenditure

Qualifications:


  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Excellent numeracy, financial and analytical skills
  • A strong sense of curiosity and willingness to challenge
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrable ability to develop new skills
  • Proactive and enjoys identifying / developing new processes / ideas
  • Self motivated with strong track record of delivering to deadline
  • Ability to work as part of a team, dealing with all levels of organisation
  • Excellent organisation and administration
