Description

West Yorkshire Policy Fellow (The Yorkshire & Humber Policy Engagement and Research Network, Y-PERN):

Funded by the Research England Development (RED) Fund, the Yorkshire and Humber Policy Engagement and Research Network (Y-PERN)
is a novel network-based approach to inclusive and place-based academic policy engagement and research. The academic coordination of Y-PERN is led by Leeds University Business School, working closely with the University's Research and Innovation Service and with Yorkshire Universities
(a regional partnership of 12 Higher Education Institutions.)

By enhancing the effectiveness of inclusive regional development policy and strategy, Y-PERN will play a critical role in fulfilling the commitment made in a Regional Memorandum of Understanding between Yorkshire Universities and Yorkshire & Humber Councils (22 Local Authorities and 2 Mayoral Combined Authorities) to work together on supporting the region's growth and long-term development.

Y-PERN Policy Fellows are impact focused academic positions, reflecting the increasing importance of the impact agenda in academia, and they form a bridge between academia and the policy world with the aim of enhancing the contribution of academic research to policy making in the region.

As the West Yorkshire Policy Fellow you will be the key link between Y-PERN and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (and Local Authority partners), spending part of your working week hosted at the Combined Authority.

You will work closely with the Y-PERN Chief Policy Fellow, Dr Richard Whittle and with Professor Andrew Brown, Professor Gary Dymski and Dr.

Peter O'Brien of the Y-PERN Directorate and form part of the wider Y-PERN team which spans Yorkshire and the Humber, contributing to collective region-wide Y-PERN activities.
